Deepa Jayakumar: Profile, Husband, Religion, Age and Wiki



Deepa Jayakumar is a rising profile in Tamil Nadu politics. She is increasingly being seen as the most potent threat that V K Sasikala may have to face in the future. Not being allowed to even come closer to any AIADMK functions, Deepa is all set to launch a new political party. Lots of AIADMK supporters, particularly young voters, are goading her to do so at the earliest. She did that on 69th birth anniversary of Late Jayalalitha. She announced the formation of a forum named MGR Amma Deepa Peravai and also declared her candidature in the by election to the prestigious R K Nagar Constituency which feel vacant by the death of Jayalalitha. Contrary to expectation, she didn't announce about a new political outfit. She is still hoping to grab AIADMK.


Deepa came to lime light when she was not allowed to see Jayalalitha in the Apollo Hospital. Obviously, the order came directly from Sasikala. Deepa being a blood relative of Amma instantly got sympathy. She used this opportunity to launch her by making some weird allegations against Sasikala.




Profile of Deepa Jayakumar


Deepa was born in 1974 in Chennai. Her father Jayakumar was the younger brother of Jayalalitha. The family used to live in Jayalalitha home Poes Garden. Deepa was also born in this house.  In 1995, Jayakumar left Poes Garden along with his wife and children. Unfortunately, Jayakumar died few months later.


Deepa and her brother Deepak stayed in Chennai with their mother. They did get little bit help from Jayalalitha. After completing graduation, Deepa did a diploma course on Mass Communication from London. Her first job was with The New Indian Express. She again returned back to London where she got married to Madhvan and settled there.


Deepak Jayakumar, the brother of Deepa, was seen during the funeral of Jayalalitha. In an interview, Deepak disclosed lots of uncomfortable stuffs about Deepa. He bluntly said that Deepa is not a person with whom he would like to maintain any relationship.

There are confusions about the real identity of the husband of Deepa Jayakumar. Though, everyone saw the couple at the Apollo Hospital, but still little is known about her husband.


One thing is very much clear that Deepa’s husband is not a Hindu. There is also quite a high probability that Deepa has already changed her religion. She is no more Hindu, but a Christian. Her real name is Deepa Patrick. This information was revealed by journalist J. Gopalakrishnan on Twitter. But, the name Madhvan somehow creates confusion. It is possible that the guy has changed his religion and retained his maiden name, like YSR Reddy of Andhra Pradesh who concealed his religion to the public till his death (YSR was a Christian, so is Jagan!). That Deepa doesn’t use Bindi (the trade mark of Jayalalitha) gives credence to this theory. She is also hesitant in disclosing information about her husband.


There is no denying that Deepa has physical resemblance to that of Late Jayalalitha. But, to become successful in the politics, she needs more than just this resemblance. She should come forward and let people know more about her. Disclosing the fact that she is a Christian can be starting point.
